UNTITLED, ART is an international, curated art fair founded in 2012 that focuses on curatorial balance and integrity across all disciplines of contemporary art. UNTITLED, ART innovates the standard fair model by selecting a curatorial team to identify and curate a selection of galleries, artist-run exhibition spaces, and non-profit institutions and organizations, in dialogue with an architecturally designed venue. The next edition of UNTITLED, ART San Francisco will take place January 17 – 19, 2020 at Pier 35, 1454 The Embarcadero.

MARSO presents A grain in the eye of the mountain, a collaborative exhibition by Daniela Libertad, Fabiola Menchelli, and Leslie Moody Castro. Comprised of completely new bodies of work based on a series of conversations between the three over the course of many months, the exhibition plays with medium, form, and space in a site-specific context.

Fundación Casa Wabi se complace en presentar la última exhibición del ciclo de exposiciones 2019 en Casa Santa María. Fabiola Menchelli cierra esta temporada con una muestra que habla acerca de los ciclos, la rotación de los astros, y nuestra forma de medir el paso del tiempo observando la luz.

Uno de los planteamientos más interesantes de la Teoría General de la Relatividad de Einstein, es que en las cercanías de un cuerpo suficientemente masivo, la trayectoria de la luz puede ser doblada por la fuerza gravitacional. Se pueden observar variaciones aparentes en la posición de astros lejanos cuando estos pasan cerca de una estrella o masa, efectivamente doblando la luz. En La curvatura de la luz, la obra de Fabiola Menchelli moldea la forma por medio de la luz y la superposición de imágenes, interviniendo así el espacio y la realidad.

La exposición Luego la Forma, que inauguró este otoño en la Galería de Arte Mexicano, busca elucidar acerca de un proceso nativo de las artes plásticas, la conjuración de lo empírico a lo intangible. La muestra entrelaza las prácticas de Ramiro Chaves, Yeni Mao, Fabiola Menchelli y Alejandra Venegas. Sus trabajos extraen dibujos, pinturas, esculturas o fotos del complejo espacio de transición entre la fuente y la realización de la obra.

Y luego, la forma, trata sobre el proceso como expresión, una fisicalidad que nace de una impresión, la forma formada por un olor etéreo. Las obras descifran la forma en que se hace la forma. Estas prácticas son cada una una aclaración, una paráfrasis, una decodificación.

Marking our eighth year as the official partner of Paris Photo, J.P. Morgan Private Bank is proud to return and exhibit significant works from the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection. This Must Be The Place features iconic photographs, as well as recent acquisitions. Curated by Director and Chief Curator Dr. Charlotte Eyerman, the exhibition reflects the Collection’s diversity — from pioneering early photography to contemporary explorations of new media.

Working in a broad range of photographic techniques, styles and media across 150 years of international photographic history, featured artists include: Diane Arbus, Berenice Abbott, Ansel Adams, Eugène Atget, Kwame Brathwaite, Peter Campus, Louis Cameron, William Eggleston, Walker Evans, Robert Frank, Lee Friedlander, Louise Lawler, Vera Lutter, Lisette Model, Richard Prince and Hiroshi Sugimoto.

A Room Is Made Up Of Other Spaces

PROXYCO is pleased to present A Room is Made Up of Other Spaces, an exhibition with works by Ana Elena Garuz, Veronica Lehner, and Fabiola Menchelli, and curated by Daniel Garza Usabiaga. The work of these artists constantly addresses the notion of space or engages with specific spatial situations for their production and presentation. Although working in different media – installation, painting, sculpture or photography – they privilege non-figurative and constructivist solutions and share, among other things, an interest in color and other pictorial concerns that can be tied to the legacy of monochrome painting and geometric abstraction. For this exhibition, they actively participated in different ways in its articulation and final arrangement. Having the architecture of PROXYCO as the starting point, the presence of their artworks creates a complex spatial scene and establishes a new set of situational relations.

Lehner’s work, produced for this exhibition, takes as its departing point the architecture of the gallery. One section of the window’s façade seems to unfold toward the inside through a solution that gathers architectonic, sculptural and pictorial concerns. Ana Elena Garuz’s wall pieces highlights the presence of a constructive material and explores it as a plastic surface. Her work presents a study in line and materiality, and its relation with architecture, by alluding to the presence of a quotidian object: blue tape. Through multiple exposures and different constructivist solutions, Menchelli creates abstract compositions that seek to trace, translate, balance and expand the space within the frame in a simple gesture. As such, these interventions refuse to conceptualize space as a passive receptacle. Instead, their works deal with its transformation. It is space as a moment of change, a passage from one configuration to another.
